Sneak peek at Bacon Fest Sacramento 2016

Now that we’ve got the Thanksgiving turkey out of the way, let’s turn our attention toward some important news in the world of bacon.

That’s right, Bacon Fest Sacramento 2016 is set for Jan. 25-31, and we got our greasy paws on the preliminary event schedule. You can look forward to a bonanza of bacon specials at Sacramento eateries, along with the return of some favorite events and a few new ones as well. Here’s what’s scheduled so far:

Jan. 25: Bacon Fest opening night party at Empress Tavern

Jan. 26: Bacon Fest at Magpie, with all-you-can eat small plate bites

Jan. 27: TBA

Jan. 28: Bacon Fest dinner at Bacon & Butter (the first time dinner will be served at the restaurant)

Jan. 29: Bacon Fest Happy Hour at Golden Bear; Kevin Bacon Tribute at Old Ironsides with local bands

Jan. 30: Bacon Fest brunch at Hook & Ladder; Bacon and Beer Bus Tour with visits to Track 7, Bike Dog and Berryessa Brewing Co. (tickets on sale Dec. 7); Bacon and Beer Night at Pangaea Bier Cafe

Jan. 31: Bacon Fest Chefs Competition at Mulvaney’s (tickets on sale Dec. 7); plus a Bacon Fest after party at a super-secret midtown location.

We’re also hearing that a bacon-themed cocktail competition may be in the mix as well. More information, including event prices and times will be announced soon. Check Bacon Fest’s web page soon for more announcements and links to tickets.
