We drove through the rain to reach Jamieson Ranch Vineyards in American Canyon, just outside the Napa Valley. There, chef Rick Tramonto of Restaurant R’evolution in New Orleans assembled a multicourse luncheon for 75 to close the sixth annual Napa Valley Truffle Festival. The fest celebrates the subterranean fungus that’s a delicacy in the global marketplace.
More than 900 people attended the four-day event, choosing from an a la carte menu of wine tastings, food-and-wine pairings, truffle-accented lunches and dinners, truffle-hunting demonstrations, and a truffle-cultivation seminar presented by the American Truffle Company.
The festival brings foodies from all over California and a few foreign countries. To get an early start on the seventh annual event in January 2017, visit www.napatrufflefestival.com.
