Entrepreneur and stay-at-home mom Kristina Marr of Folsom has some treats for all you cookie monsters.
Her online “bake shop,” Just Cookies, offers from-scratch, crunchy, buttery treats in eight flavors — chocolate chip, peanut butter, chocolate peanut butter, orange-coconut-cranberry, oatmeal raisin, Snickerdoodle, gingerbread and M&M.
“I was doing a lot of baking for family and friends and my husband’s (business acquaintances), and people started asking if they could order them,” she recalled. She has run her state-licensed business out of her home kitchen for 18 months.
Our panel of tasters sampled a box of Marr’s favorite — chocolate chip— and concluded: Yum!

“I think it’s my best cookie,” she said.
Though Marr’s website www.eatsmilerepeat.com is a work in progress, all you need to know right now is this: You can order a fancy box of eight cookies for $12.50, a box of 16 for $25 or a cellophane bag of eight for $10. Meanwhile, you can buy individual cookies for $2 at Folsom Grind coffee shop (www.folsomgrind.com).
“I can do any quantities with advance notice, and customize them to (customers’ specifications),” Marr said. “The business is growing and we’re considering renting space in a commercial kitchen.”
Now, where can we get a tall glass of cold milk?
