Les Baux, the French bakery and café at 5090 Folsom Blvd. in East Sacramento, appears to have closed its doors.

A call to the offices of La Bou, the café chain of which Les Baux was a part, was not immediately returned Friday afternoon. But a sign on the door of the café, dated June 10, read: “We are deeply saddened to inform you that Les Baux is closed at the end of today’s service.”

The note also referred to new owners needing “a little time to get ready to reopen,” and that “we are confident the new owners will continue what we have started here.”

Les Baux opened in 2012 in a shopping center that also includes Incredible Pets and the Face & Body Emporium beauty supply store. It offered pastries and coffee to go and also served sit-down, French-inspired meals. The Bee’s Blair Anthony Robertson gave Les Baux 2 1/2 stars out of four when he reviewed it in 2013.
