One of the best deals at East Sacramento’s OBO’ Italian Kitchen & Bar is the $8.50 stacked-with-tuna sandwich on toasted sourdough wheat. Though one must visit the restaurant to get the sandwich’s specific contents – hard-boiled yet creamy egg, tuna-enhancing house-made lemon dressing – duplicating the bread component is possible. OBO’ uses Sacramento bake shop Grateful Bread’s multi-grain sourdough, which takes you on a textural adventure entailing cracked wheat, sunflower kernels and flax seed. Grateful Bread sells the bread pre-sliced at its Loehmann’s Plaza store, and through other local outlets.
