Look down the menu at South, past its signature fried chicken, and a burger that was recently ranked best in the city by the taste-maker website Thrillist, and you’ll find a humble and delicious dish that could become your new favorite.

This chicken pot pie was created first as a meal to feed the restaurant’s employees, but was deemed so tasty that it deserved to be enjoyed by all. Far from the frozen TV-dinner style version, South’s chicken pot pie is loaded with Cajun pulled chicken and vegetables, all snug in a homemade pastry shell.
