Sprouts Farmers Market has expanded its home delivery system to greater Sacramento, the company announced in a news release Tuesday.
The move is the next step in Sprouts’ partnership with Instacart, a San Francisco-based delivery system that moved into Sacramento in March 2017 and began working with the grocery store in January 2018. Sprouts also announced its expansion to Denver and San Diego markets Tuesday.
Instacart will deliver to groceries to Sacramento, Roseville, Elk Grove and Citrus Heights households within two hours of the order being placed, Sprouts said. It doesn’t appear to reach into Folsom or Lincoln, both of which have Sprouts stores.
Customers can place orders using the Sprouts mobile app or by going online to delivery.sprouts.com. The first order is free, after which delivery starts at $5.99 plus optional tipping. Frequent users can also pay $14.99 per month or $149.99 annually for Instacart Express, which then eliminates the delivery fee for all purchases over $35.
