Winchester Country Club is Northern California’s hidden gem. Above the fog, but below the snow line, Winchester offers homebuyers a lifestyle you simply can’t find anywhere else. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills, this golf course community is perfectly positioned, with quick access to some of California’s best ski resorts, and still within reach of the urban amenities and cultural offerings of San Francisco and Sacramento.

Winchester Country Club has selected Troon, the leader in golf course management, development, and marketing to manage the award-winning golf course and club. In addition to the Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr. designed golf course, Winchester features a swim and tennis center, spa, and expansive deck areas. On the third floor of the incredible 35,000-square-foot clubhouse is a full gym with spectacular views of the 18th and 10th fairways. More than a dozen group classes are offered weekly, including TRX training and indoor cycling. Our Pilates Reformer Studio features four Reformers and a Cadillac; Not common in most gyms, let alone a community clubhouse.

“We offer a wide variety of fitness classes for all levels and abilities,” said Tracy Haaland, Lifestyle Director for Winchester Country Club. “Yoga, high-energy circuit training – we have something for everyone.”

However, it’s Winchester’s unique setting that allows Haaland to take advantage of the local terrain that Northern California has to offer when planning special events and activities for the residents of Winchester. “We have plenty of opportunities to get outdoors – nature hikes, cycling, and snowshoeing are just a few excursions we’ve planned,” said Haaland.

And lifestyle activities are not limited to the physical, but mental as well. Winchester features a monthly guest lecture series that invites residents to learn more about a wide variety of topics – everything from local history to beekeeping.

“We make a point to learn about the community. Whether it’s the rich history of the area, or discovering the unique skills that our residents can share with one another,” said Haaland. “The residents of Winchester are so diverse and come from so many different backgrounds and geographies, we want to leverage their experiences, while creating a community at the same time.”

And most of all, the members love Winchester and their programs, and aren’t shy to talk about it.

“Tracy Haaland brought a new level and variety of fitness classes and programs when she came to Winchester; Fantasy Football, Speaker Series, Hikes, Winchester Mutts and Martini’s, dietitian, Pilates, personal training, Spinning, Water Aerobics, TRX etc. She handles many programs and coordinates with outside agencies to bring Winchester club members the best experience,” says a club member.

Another member says, “The fitness instructor Tracy has been a treasure. My wife does not enjoy golf like me. Since Tracy has come aboard, my wife now goes VERY regularly to the clubhouse to engage in workouts, hikes, lectures and numerous other activities.”

There is nothing else like the atmosphere of Winchester and the social lifestyle it offers. This is more than a traditional on-site gym for members. Activities and events are tailored around the residents’ interests and are designed to enlighten, expand and enhance their lives. Winchester currently has two beautiful Winchester-Built homes that are move-in ready and two more under construction.
