Rancho Costa Verde recently opened its self-sustained luxury beach club complex. This beach club, which includes a restaurant, bar, pool and clubhouse, is the first of its kind and showcases the advances of green technology.
A state-of-the-art solar system with an electric car charging station, a wastewater treatment system that recycles all wastewater for irrigation, and an atmospheric water maker that creates drinking water from the humidity in the air with electricity generated by the solar system can all be found at Rancho Costa Verde.
Green technology usage is not restricted to just energy production at Rancho Costa Verde. The Beach Club Complex utilizes waste management systems to provide, conserve, and recycle water. The systems reduce waste water to a clear odorless state, perfect for irrigation. The clubhouse also takes advantage of water-creating technology by using an Atmospheric Water-maker to create crystal clear drinking water out of the humidity in the air.
“Rancho Costa Verde is a shining example of what can be achieved with careful planning and environmentally sensitive construction,” said principal and co-developer Robert Rios. “It is a 625-acre master planned community that will remain 50 percent undeveloped. What that means is that half will never be touched, while 40 percent is set aside as a registered ecological preserve. Of the 625 acres there are only 620 home sites. The average custom parcel is a 1/4-acre, and starts as low as $22,500. There are several custom homes completed at Rancho Costa Verde, with part and full-time residents with many more in different phases of construction. When owners are ready to build, Rancho Costa Verde is building luxury custom homes from less than $78 a square foot.”
The bar and grill, the pool and hot tub are all provided electricity through cutting-edge solar power technology. The beach club bar/kitchen along with the dining area is equipped with air-conditioning, high-definition television, full sports packages, high speed Wi-Fi internet, billiards table, and sales office. The upstairs viewing deck seating is centered around a beautiful outdoor fireplace, which allows for the ideal spot to overlook the volleyball court, the putting green, the bocce ball court, the horse shoe pit and the 60,000- gallon infinity pool and hot tub.
“We are providing to our owners at Rancho Costa Verde all the luxuries and amenities one would expect at a first class beach club overlooking The Sea of Cortez. The difference between our beach club from any other, is that it will be completely solar powered and self-sustaining,” Rios said.
“We at Rancho Costa Verde are very excited to show that ‘Going Green’ no longer means going without. This beach club will be a clear example of what can be done today, as well as what the future holds, for green construction technology.”
