A white Subaru Outback crashed through the front windows of a Round Table on Arden Way Sunday evening, taking out a handful of tables and chairs, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The vehicle was completely inside the restaurant, at 4341 Arden Way, near a few arcade games, said CHP Officer Kyle Jakobsen. While no one was injured inside the restaurant, the driver complained of minor pains.
There were two people inside the car at the time of the accident, the male driver and a female passenger, Jakobsen said.
The driver was making a left turn into a parking space in front of the Round Table, just before 6 p.m., when he experienced "pedal confusion," accidentally pushing the gas instead of the break, Jakobsen said.
There was minor damage to the vehicle, said Jakobsen. Sacramento County Fire was able to back the vehicle out out of the restaurant.
The driver is from Redding and was visiting family in the area. His passenger lives in the Arden area.
