The community of Antelope originally grew to provide housing for military personnel at nearby McClellan Air Force Base, which is now a growing business park.
The community still provides easy access to McClellan but has become newly attractive because of its proximity to high tech work in neighboring Placer County.
A family dominated, white-collar community, Antelope is well served by a 41-acre community park, three nearby golf courses, the Cherry Island soccer complex, a recently built library and the McClellan Aviation Museum, among other community resources.
Several regional shopping areas are nearby. Antelope also provides handy access via Interstate 80 to downtown Sacramento and Sacramento International Airport.
