1. TAHOE FIRE VO/SOT

Assemblyman Ted Gaines (R-Roseville) is asking the governor's office to declare a state of emergency for the fire burning near Lake Tahoe. The fire has caused an estimated hundreds of millions of dollars to homes in the area and no estimates are available yet for the potential loss to businesses that see huge attendance over the Fourth of July weekend for the fireworks display on the lake. The Lieutenant Governor and members of the governor's administration plan to announce the state of emergency declaration this morning at the State Capitol. 2. FIREWORKS SAFETY VO/SOT

CAL-Fire will conduct a demonstration of illegal fireworks and discuss increased penalties for using fireworks that don't meet state safety codes. CAL-Fire is what the California Department of Forestry is now calling itself. Efforting soundbites and video.

3. SOLDIER FUNERAL VO/SOT

A funeral service will be conducted in memory of Sergeant Derek Tillman Roberts of Fair Oaks, near Sacramento. He was killed in Kirkuk, Iraq when an improvised explosive hit the vehicle he was traveling in. The two time combat veteran also served in Afghanistan. Efforting soundbites and video.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is in Paris for a meeting with the president of France.
