1. GOVERNOR ON THE DELTA VO/SOT

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is touring parts of the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta to promote his water policy that includes reservoir construction, a canal around the Delta and habitat restoration in the region's ecosystem, which is experiencing dwindling populations of fish species. 2. AIR BOARD APPOINTEE HEARING VO/SOT

The Senate Rules Committee will conduct a preliminary hearing for the governor's new appointee to the California Air Resources Board chairmanship. Nichols was appointed to the board two weeks ago, after Arnold Schwarzenegger rescinded Doctor Robert Sawyer's appointment last month, touching off controversy that his chief and deputy chiefs of staff were micromanaging the board. 3. TOP 10 CONSUMER RIP OFFS AT CAPITOL VO/SOT

Prosecutors from throughout the state, victims of identity theft and Assembly Judiciary Committee chairman Dave Jones (D-Sacramento) will discuss the District Attorney's Top 10 list of consumer complaints, and announce their website with tips for consumers. 4. TITLE NINE COMMITTEE FORMED REQUEST

The Senate Rules Committee is expected to officially form a select committee to investigate whether gender equity in sports laws are being adhered to in the California State University system's athletic programs, after a court ordered a six million dollar settlement for a female coach at Fresno State. DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION HEARING The Assembly Select Committee on Alcohol and Drug Abuse will conduct an informational hearing at the State Capitol this morning.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is touring portions of the Sacramento River Delta as part of his effort to promote his water storage and Delta restoration plan this week.

LEGISLATURE'S SCHEDULE

The Senate and Assembly check in as required to receive per diem which will be paid retroactively when a budget is signed. It is normally paid weekly.
