Evans donates two vintages to help budget cause

It seems Assemblywoman Noreen Evans is doing her part to finish the budget. The Democrat who represents Napa Valley donated two bottles of wine to the Assembly speaker's office today after reading in The Bee that the mood lightened after leaders shared a bottle of 2002 Joseph Phelps Insignia and a 2003 red wine from Quintessa Estate.

"Nothing brings people together like sharing a glass of wine," Evans said in a statement. "I am happy to supply the Speaker with wine to help bring a deal forward so that we can pass a budget for the people of California. The Speaker is especially fond of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. So, I sent over a bottle from Heitz Cellar and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. And, there's more where that came from if necessary."

Budget talks continued Thursday with the Senate tentatively planning to vote on something Friday night.
