1. CAL TRANS/BRIDGES VO/SOT

State bridge inspectors have determined the 69 bridges similar to the one that collapsed in Minnesota do not have safety concerns. The federal government ordered all such bridges inspected late last week. Cal Trans is expected to generate a list soon of the 85 or so bridges and overpasses of most critical concern of those 1650 on the federal list of deficient or obsolete spans. 2. VIOLENT VIDEO GAMES VO/SOT

The governor has said he will appeal a federal judge's decision overturning the legislation Schwarzenegger signed in 2005 that bans the sale of extremely violent video games (based on a rating system) to minors. Efforting soundbites and video.

3. BUDGET UPDATE VO/SOT

The budget for California's government is now 38 days late, with no resolution expected soon. The Assembly is on recess until August 20th and the Senate is not likely to meet again until then. Efforting soundbites and video on the impact to the state without a governmental budget passed.

4. WATER INFRASTRUCTURE FORUM VO/SOT

The United States Environmental Protection Agency, the State Water Resources Control Board and the California Department of Public Health are sponsoring a forum on new technologies and strategies available for water treatment, conservation and wastewater management, especially in regards to California's anticipated long term population growth. 5. BREAST FEEDING WALK VO/SOT

The California Women, Infants and Children Program is sponsoring a breastfeeding Awareness walk today at the capitol. The focus of the program is breastfeeding's role in reducing obesity. August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month. Efforting soundbites and video.
