1. HEALTHCARE BILL VO/SOT
Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez and Senate President Pro Tempore Don Perata will preview their healthcare legislation. The duo plans to put their plan up for a vote even though the Governor has vowed to veto it as it is currently written. The pro tempore indicated last week that a special session would be likely following this legislative session that is scheduled to end Friday. The California Energy Commission is is sponsoring a four day conference on Climate Change in California. Topics for the fourth annual Climate Change Conference include the economics of climate change, methods to measure greenhouse gas emissions in the agriculture industry, and California's vulnerability to sea level rise. 3. TERRORIST SENTENCING VO/SOT
Lodi terrorism defendant Hamid Hayat will be sentenced this morning at the federal courthouse in Sacramento. Hayat was convictd in April, 2006 of one count of providing material support or resources to terrorists, and three counts of making false statements to the on terrorism matters. 4. BIKE AGAINST CHILDREN'S CANCER VO/SOT
Five dads are biking from the State to the nation's Capitol to raise awareness and money for neuroblastoma, a cancer that mostly affects children. These fathers have kids who have neuroblastoma, which accounts for more than half of all malignancies in babies. Efforting soundbites and video.
