The groups MOMS (Making Our Milk Safe) is leading a protest this afternoon outside a meeting of the Bureau of Home Furnishings and Thermal Insulation. The Bureau is considering adoption of new standards regulating the use of flame retardant chemicals in consumer pillows and beddings. MOMS says the chemicals are toxic or potentially toxic. The California Board of Forestry and Fire protection meets this morning to discuss the impact of tree-thinning, a method used to reduce forest fires, on carbon emissions. Efforting soundbites and video.

GOVERNOR'S SCHEDULE

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is in Lake Arrowhead and in San Diego with the Travel and Tourism Commission promoting businesses in the areas surrounding those devastated in the fires.

LEGISLATURE'S SCHEDULE

The Senate and Assembly have adjourned for the 2007 session. Special session for health care and water is ongoing. 2008 session convenes January 7th.
