The California Highway Patrol will show off its efforts to protect drivers during “Trucker Appreciation Day” today.
The CHP will team with the California Trucking Association to celebrate truck drivers at the Chowchilla River Enforcement Facility, 8820 S. Highway 99 in Le Grand, at 10 a.m. today, according to a news release.
People will get a chance to see the vehicle inspections and enforcement the CHP use to make drivers safer, the release states.
Expected to attend are K-9 officers, community leaders, CHP air operations and other representatives.

“The function is intended to promote a better understanding of commercial safety and how new changes in regulations will affect the industry and make our roadways safer,” the release states.
Free food will be available, the release states, and the event is expected to continue until 2 p.m.
