The California Department of Transportation on Tuesday opened the middle and right lanes of northbound Highway99, from north of McHenry Road to north of Buchanan Hollow Road.
The work, which is part of the $128million Arboleda Drive Freeway Project, was completed at 1:51a.m. – four hours ahead of schedule, according to a Caltrans press release.
As a result of the early completion, crews were able to complete striping for the area, and will no longer need to close the left shoulder and left lane on northbound Highway99 from McHenry Road to Colony Slough through Friday.
Work on the Highway99 Arboleda Drive Freeway Project began on June27 last year. The project will construct a new interchange at Arboleda Drive and upgrade Highway99 from a four-lane expressway to a six-lane expressway on a seven-mile section south of Merced between Buchanan Hollow Road and the Miles Creek Overflow. Completion of the project is expected in late 2015.
