An Atwater man is wanted by police after allegedly outrunning officers Sunday during a vehicle chase.
Raul Mansilla, 30, was last seen driving a white 1994 Cadillac on Sunday afternoon in the Chowchilla area, Atwater police Lt. Sam Joseph said.
He was driving a vehicle that matched the description of one believed to have been used in at least one recent burglary. However, police said there was no evidence that Mansilla was involved in the burglary case.
An Atwater police officer spotted the vehicle just after 2 p.m. on Atwater Boulevard and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, later identified by police as Mansilla, refused to pull over and sped away, Joseph said.

Officers pursued the vehicle, which turned onto southbound Highway 99.
The California Highway Patrol took over the chase as the suspect’s vehicle approached Chowchilla, Joseph said.
Officers subsequently lost sight of the vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
The Cadillac was later found and unoccupied, Joseph said.
A warrant was issued for Mansilla’s arrest, charging him with evading police. He was not in custody Monday afternoon.
Officers described Mansilla as a Latino with a dark complexion, standing about 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes and a shaved head.
Anyone with information regarding Mansilla’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Atwater Police Department’s detective’s bureau at (209) 357-6396.
