Three sustain major injuries in crash near Gustine

Three people sustained major injuries Tuesday morning in a crash involving three vehicles near Gustine, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash was reported about 10 a.m. on Highway 33, south of Gun Club Road.

Kevin Coleman, 37, of Gustine was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla carrying passenger Melinda Rogers, 47, of Gustine, according to the CHP. The Corolla was traveling southbound on Highway 33 at an unknown rate of speed.

Meanwhile, Allen Osborn, 80, of Wasco was driving a 2012 Hyundai Genesis at an unknown rate of speed on northbound Highway 33.

The Corolla crossed into the northbound lane, where it collided head-on with the Genesis, according to the CHP.

A 2006 GMC pickup traveling behind the Corolla crashed into the back of the Toyota. The driver of the GMC wasn’t hurt, according to the CHP.

Coleman, Rogers and Osborn suffered major injuries and were taken to Modesto hospitals.

The crash remains under investigation, according to the CHP.
