Merced County sheriff’s detectives are investigating two fatal shootings.
The most recent shooting, reported as a double homicide, happened in Delhi. The other shooting occurred in Planada and claimed the life of one man.
Details in both cases remain sketchy.
The shooting in Delhi was reported late Saturday in the area of Harding Road and Merced Avenue. Deputy Delray Shelton, sheriff’s spokesman, described the two victims as Latino men in their early to mid-20s.

The shooting in the Planada area became a homicide case after the victim succumbed to his wounds in the hospital Friday.
Merced County Sheriff’s deputies haven’t released the name of the victim, who thus far has been described only as a Latino man in his early to mid-20s.
Shelton said the shooting was reported about 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 9300 block of Bigler Drive. The victim was flown to a Modesto hospital, where he later died.
No suspects are in custody, and a description of the shooters has not been released. Shelton said the motive remains under investigation.
