Last weekend for ‘A Christmas Carol’ at Playhouse Merced
Playhouse Merced brings together past and present artists as it continues to celebrate its 20th anniversary with the production of “A Christmas Carol – A New Musical,” which plays through Sunday. Tickets are on sale for Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are $22, $20 for seniors, $12 for students and $10 for children. Tickets can be purchased by calling (209) 725-8587 or by visiting the box office at 452 W. Main St. in downtown Merced from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The show has a few spooky, ghostly scenes but is suitable for all ages.
Cottonwood Creek plays at the Hangar BBQ

Arts UC Merced Chorale presents Winter Concert
Arts UC Merced will present its “Chorale Winter Concert: A Shining Night of Stars and Song” at 5 p.m. Sunday at UC Merced’s Lakireddy Auditorium. The event features UC Merced students under the direction of Lorraine Walsh, accompanied by Denise Bumgarner. The audience will hear classics that evoke images of starry nights and wintry scenes. Johnson Randall to at play at Star Club

Christmas in the Park
The first annual Christmas in the Park is set to be held 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 20 and 10 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Dec. 21-22 in Merced’s Applegate Park. According to the event’s Facebook page, the park will be “transformed into a holiday fantasy with animated exhibits, glittering lights and a huge Community Giving Tree.” The event will include “animated snowmen, caroling mice, elf woodcrafters, animated nutcrackers and a Santa’s Den.” It is being organized by the Baby Victor Foundation, according to the posted announcement. FAME: Fashion and Art -- the Merced Experience
FAME, previously known as Project Fishbowl, is scheduled to launch its first show Dec. 20.
