The ceramic sculptures of a Northern California artist will be featured next month in the Merced College Art Gallery.

The exhibition of ceramic sculptures, titled “Ideas Sleeping Furiously,” by artist Joanna Kidd will open Jan. 15 and continue to Feb. 13.

Kidd is a printmaker, sculptor and video-installation artist. She earned a degree in philosophy and cognitive studies from Dartmouth College and studied printmaking and sculpture at San Francisco State University.

After studying in Florence, Italy, she received a bachelor of fine arts degree in sculpture and a master of fine arts degree in visual art and multimedia techniques from Academy of Fine Arts of Florence.
