Holiday chorus on the air
Christmas Classics and Carols, the annual holiday production by the Merced College Chorale, will air on KYOS 1480 AM at 8 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. It replaces the program Community Conversations, which takes its holiday break. The hour-long concert will feature Christmas classics that were performed live earlier this month.
Fun Run set for Tuesday
The Christmas Eve Fun Run will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The run will will start at Applegate Park at 26th and O Street. Runners, joggers and walkers are welcome. Bring a small wrapped present for the gift exchange. For more information, call (209) 722-4428.

Christmas Eve service
LE GRAND The United Methodist Church Christmas Eve service of candles and carols will be held in the sanctuary at Washington and Adams streets at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Mochi to be ready Friday
LIVINGSTON The United Methodist Church will hold its annual mochi tsuki event on Saturday, when people will gather for the traditional rice pounding. Sales will only be by advance order. The price will be $4 per pound for plain mochi and $1.50 each for ahn mochi. Orders can be placed by calling the church office at (209) 394-2264 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday through Friday. All orders should be made before Friday and will be ready to pick up from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Pioneer Hall.
Sunday social dance
A Sunday social dance with music by Just Friends will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Merced Community Center ballroom, 755 W. 15th St. Doors will open at 1 p.m. The cost is $8. For more information, call (209) 723-0839.

Struggles with depression, anxiety or anger might be a lingering response to a difficult childhood. ACE Overcomers is a program that helps people cope with such effects. It is a 12-week course that equips people to understand and overcome self-defeating thought and behavior patterns. ACE begins a new free class in January 2014.
