A 21-year-old man suffered minor injuries earlier this week when he was struck over the head with a beer bottle, the Merced Police Department reported.
The man, whose name was not released for safety reasons, told police he was walking home from a house party when he was “jumped” by two men who struck him with a Corona beer bottle, according to a department news release.
The assault occurred at 10:07 p.m. Monday near Marie Lane and Parsons Avenue, police said. The man’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the assailants.

Another 21-year-old man was assaulted two hours earlier that same night in an unrelated case.
The incident was reported about 8 p.m. in the 1100 block of M Street during an apparent robbery attempt, police said.
The man, whose name was also withheld for safety reasons, told police he was walking in the area when two men confronted him on the street and struck him on the head, police said. The victim suffered minor injuries, according to police.
Investigators said it was not clear what led to the confrontation, but the victim believed the two men were trying to rob him.
No suspect descriptions were available Tuesday. No arrests have been made.
