Merced County officials are looking for nominations for the annual Volunteer Recognition Program, officials announced in a news release this week.
The deadline to submit nominations is 5 p.m. Wednesday, said county spokesman Mike North.
The public is encouraged to nominate either groups or individuals for recognition.
Recipients will be recognized at the Board of Supervisors meeting on April 8.

Nomination forms can be found at the Board of Supervisors counter in the Merced County Administration Building, 2222 M St., or at www.co.merced.ca.us/volunteer.
This year’s theme is “Celebrate Service,” according to the release.
The supervisors will use National Volunteer Week, April 6-13, as an opportunity to thank people who “exemplify the volunteer spirit and who make outstanding contributions throughout the year.”
It is also a good time to remind Merced County residents about the importance of volunteering and making volunteer service a regular part of their lives, North said.
