Bianca Garibay isn’t a natural goalie.
You would have hardly known it on Monday afternoon. The junior defender has filled in with the absence of a starting keeper for the Buhach Colony High girls soccer team.
With 11 big saves she gave the Thunder every opportunity to upset undefeated Turlock on Monday. A Kayla Gilkison volley into an open net was the only ball to best Garibray on the afternoon, but that proved to be the difference in a 1-0 Bulldog victory.
It was a much closer encounter than the team’s first meeting as BC (1-3-1 CCC) took advantage of four starters missing from the Turlock (4-0-1 CCC) lineup.
