The program, sponsored by the Merced Symphony Association with Arts UC Merced Presents, will feature a program conducted by Music Director Henrik Jul Hansen with a guest appearance by the UC Merced Chorale led by Lorraine Walsh, according to a symphony press release.
The symphony will perform a world premiere of Kate Janzen’s “Concerto for Saxophone, Trombone, and Percussion.” A graduate of California State University, Sacramento, Janzen has performed on piano and keyboard with the Merced Symphony for several years.
Janzen has been working on her latest composition for many months.
