Three people were hurt Tuesday night in a drive-by shooting that police are calling a “random attack.”

The incident was reported at 9:48 p.m. in the 500 block of M Street, according to Sgt. Alan Ward. The victims are three men, ages 22, 29 and 43.

Police responded to the scene and found the gunshot victims in the yards of three homes.

The victims told police they were standing in front of a house talking when the occupants of a white SUV-type vehicle drove by and fired multiple shots in the trio’s direction. All three men were hit by the gunfire, and two of the victims suffered multiple injuries to the head, upper torso and lower body, police said.
