Social media class

Merced College is offering a social media class. It is a new six-week online course for certification lasting from July 14 through August 24. The Social Media Certification Training Course is available through Merced College’s Community Services program and is recognized as a National Institute for Social Media-approved training partner and testing center. Breakfast in Snelling

Snelling will host its monthly breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. June 22 at the IOOF Hall. Tickets are $5 for adults; children 3 years and under are free. The meal includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, coffee and juice. For more information, call (209) 563-6344.

National Pollinator Week

Celebrate National Pollinator Week at the San Luis National Wildlife Reservoir Visitor Center, 7376 S. Wolfsen Road in Los Banos. The refuge will kick off National Pollinator Week from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, when refuge staff will present “The Birds and the Bees and ... the Beetles? Why We Should Care About Pollinators.” The presentation followed by questions should last about one hour.

Certified Farmers Market

The Original Merced County Certified Farmers Market is 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays at the shopping center off Yosemite Avenue and Paulson Road and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays at 18th and N streets. For more information, go to

Vacation Bible School

JMJ Maternity Homes, a faith-based 501(c)3, provides homeless pregnant women with shelter, resources and support services in a nurturing Christian environment.
