Animal carriers needed
New Beginnings of Merced needs carriers for the 200-plus animals they transport from Animal Control to no-kill rescues each month. Any carriers appropriate for animals 30 pounds and under in usable condition are acceptable as well as new carriers or funds for their purchase. Receipts can be provided for tax purposes. Red Cross speaker
The National Association for Uniformed Services, H. Wayne Hein Chapter 18, will meet 10 a.m. Aug. 16 at the Castle Air Museum Banquet Room. The local Stroke Support Group is open to anyone that has survived a stroke. Family, friends and caregivers are welcome.
