Buhach Colony’s Martinez shows scoring touch in soccer victory

Buhach Colony midfielder Javier Martinez took control of Monday’s victory over Los Banos, scoring five times in the 7-2 victory.

Even playing 30-minute halves to give the junior varsity squads a longer game in the nightcap, Martinez managed a first-half hat trick to lead the Thunder to a 3-1 advantage at the break. He added BC’s first two goals of the second half. Angel Hernandez and Bryan Rodriguez finished the scoring for the Thunder.

“We usually don’t centralize our game strategies around one player. We’re pretty versatile,” Buhach Colony coach Juan Perez said. “We try to spread the field around, and we have a lot of dynamic players on our team. ”

Los Banos, which improved from its 9-1 loss to BC a year ago, received goals from Manuel Zorra and Exon Iniguez.
