Visit California, the Sacramento-based nonprofit group that helps develop the state’s tourism marketing programs, has signed a million-dollar deal with Asia’s largest airline to promote Chinese visits to California.
Officials said the deal was signed with China Southern Airlines, the world’s fourth-largest carrier. Visit California said 1.1 million Chinese tourists visited the Golden State in 2015, spending a combined $2.5 billion.
The agreement clears the way for direct-to-consumer marketing, travel, trade and public relations initiatives in China.
