Online help-wanted ads gained in Sacramento and statewide in October, but ads fell short of year-ago totals, according to The Conference Board, a New York-based business research group.
In its monthly report, the board said 28,700 ads were posted in Sacramento in October, up 5.1 percent from 27,300 in September but a decline of about 5.3 percent from 30,300 in October 2015.
Statewide, 558,200 ads were posted in October, up 2 percent from 547,000 in September but 10 percent below 620,300 in October last year.
