Bill Slaton has been elected president of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District board of directors.
His term will run from January through December 2017.
Slaton was first elected to the SMUD board in November 2002 and represents the customers of Ward 7, which includes North Highlands, Carmichael, Antelope and Foothill Farms. He served as board president in 2013 and 2005.
In 2012, Slaton was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown to serve on the California Public Employees’ Retirement System board of administration. He was reappointed in 2015.
