Online help-wanted ads posted in Sacramento and statewide were generally tepid in December and well below the numbers reported the previous year, according to The Conference Board, a New York-based business research group.
In its monthly report released Wednesday, the board said 28,500 ads were posted in Sacramento in December, just slightly below 28,700 in November and a decline of 6.2 percent from 30,400 in December 2015.
Statewide, 559,400 ads were posted in December, up 2.6 percent from 545,100 in November but nearly 9 percent below 614,300 in December last year.
