Amazon.com Inc. said Thursday that its Prime Now fast-delivery service is now being offered for items sold by Sprouts Farmers Market and Pet Food Express stores in the Sacramento area.
Seattle-based Amazon said Prime Now members can shop online or via an app and have store merchandise delivered to their doorsteps within two hours for free.
Eligible delivery products run the gamut: seasonal/organic produce, meat, seafood, natural vitamins and body care products from Sprouts, and pet food, toys and beds from Pet Food Express.
Sprouts’ regional locations include stores in Sacramento, Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, Roseville and Granite Bay. Pet Food Express has stores in Sacramento, Roseville and Davis.
Through Prime Now, delivery from Sprouts Farmers Market will be available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Pet Food Express will be available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. In the Sacramento area, Prime Now’s general service is available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
Amazon’s Prime Now service features delivery on tens of thousands of items, from foods to Amazon devices to general household necessities. Amazon also touts a one-hour delivery fee of $7.99. The company said Prime Now is included in Amazon’s general Amazon Prime membership program, which costs $99 annually.
Prime members can download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, and will be notified when the delivery service is available in their ZIP code areas. To shop or obtain more information, see primenow.com.
Phoenix-based Sprouts operates more than 250 stores in 13 states. Pet Food Express, headquartered in Oakland, has more than 50 stores throughout Northern California.
