The online retail giant Amazon is looking to fill hundreds of part-time positions as it prepares to open a new “sortation” center in Vacaville.
The 300,000-plus-square-foot facility – set to open this fall – will be the company’s fifth in Northern California. Additionally, sites will open in Sacramento and Stockton this year and next.
“We’re thrilled to have Amazon locate one of its sortation centers in Vacaville,” said Mayor Len Augustine. “The jobs it will provide will certainly be a boost to our city as well as the region. It also adds a new level of employment to our growing job base, and adds to our reputation as an economically diverse city.”
