Delta Shores, a massive 1 million square-foot “power center,” opened the first of nearly 100 stores and restaurants in August, 2017 on a sprawling site next to Interstate 5 at the new Cosumnes River Boulevard interchange.

Walmart said Wednesday that it’s looking to hire about 300 to staff its new store scheduled to open this fall in the sprawling Delta Shores shopping complex along Interstate 5 in south Sacramento.

A temporary hiring center has been opened at 2362 Maritime Drive, Suite 200, in Elk Grove.

Walmart said applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applicants may also apply online at careers.walmart.com.

In addition, Walmart said it will offer a job to any eligible U.S. veteran honorably discharged from active duty since the Veterans Welcome Home Commitment began on Memorial Day 2013. Since that time, more than 120,000 veterans nationwide have found positions with Walmart. Interested veterans may find out more at walmartcareerswithamission.com.

The store will be hiring both full- and part-time workers, and most new hires will begin work in September to help prepare the store for its opening.

Walmart said its benefits program includes health coverage, discounts on general merchandise, life insurance and a 401(k) plan.

The Walmart Supercenter in Delta Shores is scheduled to open in November in the shopping center at the new Cosumnes River Boulevard interchange along I-5.
