Amazon.com said Wednesday that its “Treasure Truck” is roaming the Sacramento area.
The retail/tech giant says its truck is stocked with hand-picked “new, trending, local or delicious items.” Merchandise runs the gamut: electronics, gourmet foods, kitchen gadgets and outdoor gear to name just a few.
The truck cruises various locales and can be tracked by smartphone users.
Here’s how it works: Shoppers subscribe to get notifications via the Amazon app. Then text “TRUCK” to 24193*, and Amazon will let you know when the truck is rolling into the area. Shoppers make their Treasure Truck purchases in the Amazon app (tap “Treasure Truck” under “Programs and Features” in the main menu), choose their pickup location and retrieve their items.

The truck made it debut in Seattle in 2016, and now it is utilized in various U.S. cities.
