Cracker Barrel Old Country Store said it plans to staff its under-construction Sacramento site with more than 200 part- and full-time employees.

The Tennessee-based chain of Southern-flavored restaurants and gift shops is aiming for a mid-June opening at 1000 Howe Ave.

Officials said they will begin hiring on May 14. Prospective employees are encouraged to apply for positions online at www.crackerbarrel.com/careers. Only a few positions are posted online now, but more will be added in the coming weeks.

The 10,000-square-foot building and porch area will seat 180 and will include decor reflecting the history of Sacramento and all of California.
