An aviation service provider plans to expand at the Yampa Valley Regional Airport in northwestern Colorado.
The Steamboat Pilot & Today reported Friday that Atlantic Aviation will build a larger parking apron for airplanes, a new terminal and a parking lot for cars.
Atlantic Aviation is a fixed-base operator, providing airplane parking, hangars, fuel and travel planning to private customers.
Routt County Commissioner Doug Monger says Atlantic will pay the airport $125,000 a year to lease the larger apron space, up from its current lease of $80,000 annually.

Monger says he hopes the expansion will bring more private flights and more high-income visitors.
Airport Director Kevin Booth says Atlantic's expansion will allow the airport to expand parking spaces for commercial aircraft, which could help attract more commercial flights.
