Want some free advice on retirement planning? On Thursday, Kiplinger’s personal finance magazine and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors will offer an 8-hour marathon of free online advice on numerous retirement topics. The event, Jump-Start Your Retirement Plan Day, is sponsored annually by Kiplinger’s and NAPFA.

Consumers can go online to post retirement-related questions, which are answered by one of 20 financial NAPFA members nationwide. Among the topics: taxes, IRAs, 401(k)s, Social Security and investment strategies, plus other financial challenges such as saving for college.

According to NAPFA, the fees for such advice be $150 to $300 an hour.

Consumers can post questions Thursday anytime between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m., or go to napfa.org. Because it’s a live, online event, consumers can see what others are asking and the advice they’re getting.
