A new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit restaurant will open Thursday in West Sacramento, part of a full plate of Sacramento-area eatery openings in the next week.

The Dickey’s outlet will open at 11 a.m. at 2155 Town Center Plaza, with the first 50 dine-in guests to receive gift cards worth up to $50. Other giveways and discounts will be offered through Saturday.

The Dallas-based chain began its push to open franchises in the Sacramento area three years ago. The West Sacramento site is the fifth area Dickey’s managed by local franchisee Jared Katzenbarger.

On Saturday, the renovated Denny’s restaurant at 2474 Sunrise Blvd., in Rancho Cordova will host re-opening ceremonies from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant, featuring locally-inspired designs and updated features, will hand out prizes and offer discounts on food and beverages. The local remodel is part of the Denny’s “Heritage” campaign, with a goal of remodeling 70 percent of its nationwide restaurants by 2018.
