Nearly a dozen Sacramento-area hospitals earned top-rated safety scores from The Leapfrog Group, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits.
The latest edition of the group’s annual safety report graded more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals. Leapfrog’s hospital safety scores are based on public data on patient injuries, medical/medication errors and infections. Grades range from A to F.
In the Sacramento region, Sutter Health hospitals that earned a top-scoring “A” rating were Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, Sutter Davis Hospital and Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
Among the Kaiser Permanente hospitals earning an “A” rating were four regional locations: Sacramento, south Sacramento, Roseville and Vacaville. Also earning top ratings were two Dignity Health hospitals: Methodist Hospital of Sacramento and Woodland Memorial Hospital. The UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento also received an “A” grade.
