Sacramento’s Sutter Health donates $255,000 to food banks in Northern California, Hawaii

Sacramento-based Sutter Health said it has donated $255,000 to 29 food banks throughout Northern California and Hawaii.

Officials of the not-for-profit health system said the donation will enable food banks to serve more than 1 million meals during the holiday season and beyond.

The regional food banks that received donations include: Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, River City Food Bank in Sacramento, the Elk Grove Food Bank and the Yolo Food Bank in Woodland.

Over the past six years, Sutter Health said its donations to community food banks have totaled more than $1.4 million.
