Sacramento-based Lumens Light and Living, an e-commerce lighting, modern furniture and home accessories retailer, is being acquired by a Walnut Creek company.

Financial terms of the purchase by YDesign Group LLC were not disclosed. YDesign announced Tuesday that it had a definitive agreement for the acquisition.

The Bay Area company bills itself as an “online-led retailer” offering modern and contemporary lighting, furnishings and decorative plumbing to consumers and trade professionals.

YDesign, started in 2001, said the Lumens brand will join YLighting, YLiving and YBath as brands in the YDesign Group portfolio.

Founded in 2004 by Ken Plumlee and Peter Weight, Lumens has a 4,000-square-foot showroom/headquarters at 2028 K St., in midtown.

Lumens offers 300 brands and employs 113 people.

Officials said Jim Steeb will continue in his current role as president of Lumens.
