Following a dismal first half of this year, job vacancies advertised online in Sacramento and throughout California saw small gains in July, according to The Conference Board, the New York-based business research group.
However, help-wanted ads lagged behind the numbers reported in July 2015. In its monthly report released Wednesday, the board said 28,700 ads were posted in Sacramento in July, up 1 percent from 28,400 in June but a decline of nearly 5.5 percent from 30,300 in July 2015.
Statewide, 559,100 ads were posted in July, up 4.1 percent from 537,000 in June but down about 9.6 percent from 618,600 in July last year.
