Statewide registrations of used vehicles surged in the first half of this year, outpacing registrations of new vehicles, according to the Sacramento-based California New Car Dealers Association.
The association’s second-quarter report said there were 1.91 million used-vehicle registrations in the January-to-June period this year, up about 7.4 percent from 1.78 million in the year-ago period.
By comparison, new-vehicle registrations in the first half of 2016 totaled 1.04 million, up 2.8 percent year over year.
